Gurmukh Pyare Giani Harbhajan Singh jee Shatrana who now resides at Siri Anandpur Sahib, narrated a very interesting Saakhi about his experience with Bhai Sahib. Once Bapu jee (Giani Harbhajan Singh jee) and another Gursikh went to see Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee. In those days, Bhai Sahib was residing at his residence at Model Town, Ludhiana.
They landed at the bus stop at evening time and only vaguely remembered the way to Bhai Sahib's residence. They knew the address and were about to ask a Rickshaw puller to take them there but were turned off when they saw a number of them smoking. It was getting dark and they were stuck there thinking how to get to Bhai Sahib's house. They stood for a moment and remembered Guru Sahib through Naam Abhyaas that was going on within them,.
As they stood there, all of sudden Bapu jee could smell that special scent that used to come from Bhai Sahib jee only. Many Gursikhs have given this witness that indeed there was a special scent or fragrance that used to come from Bhai Sahib and it was unique to him alone. Bapu jee noticed that the scent was coming from only one side and when Bapu jee moved his face towards other directions, the fragrance stopped coming. It was coming only from one direction.
Bapu jee and that other Gursikh took this as a divine sign and started walking towards that side from where the smell was coming. Soon they reached a chowk (a four way crossing). They did not know which side to go. So Bapu jee again moved his face towards each direction and noticed that the smell was coming only from one side. They started walking towards that side, where the fragrance was coming from.
This way following the scent of Bhai Sahib, they eventually reached Bhai Sahib's house. When they reached there, they noticed that Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee was waiting for them and showered a lot of love and affection on them.
There was a nostalgic expression on Bapu jee's face when he narrated this incident. His watery eyes were filled with special spiritual love at that time.
Dhan Guru, Dhan Guru Pyare!!
