Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

A lot of ardaas shakti related stories come back from memories. Will try to share as many as possible with the sangat.

It was in 1994 or 1995. Daas was given the seva of preparing the degh at our hostel where a rensabai kirtan had been organised by the singhs. Plan was to do the rensabai kirtan and start Akhand path next morning amd continue with another divas suhela and rensabai kirtan after the bhog of Akhand path sahib.

Daas and 2 other singhs prepared the kitchen in hostel mess, by cleaning the gas cooker and sarabloh bhaande. As daas started preparing the degh daas asked one singh how much was the rasad. He answered it was 4kg. Daas didnot realised that the laangri singh had provided aata and gheo only for 2 kg degh but the sugar was 4 kg. So keeping the ratio in mind daas started preparing the degh. Water and sugar quantity ended up being double than rest of the rasad. Daas was enjoying the ras bhinni bani being sung by another singh who was standing by and put all the chaas (water & sugar syrup) in to the kadhai.

It turned out that the degh became liquid like water. As the langar hall was quite far away and it would not have been possible to get the rasad again. Singhs including daas got very bairagmayi as rensabai kirtan was in full swing and we felt it so wrong that we will not be able to present the degh to Guru sahib.

Suddenly one of the singhs who used to always remain engulfed in naam simran turned into the kitchen. As he heard us he told us to turn off the heat and put a cloth on the kadhai. He told us to go and enjoy the kirtan and do ardaas to guru sahib. As we went out we saw the singhji doing benti in very bairagmai avastha to guru sahib and following the ardaas he started doing Sri Sukhmani Sahib path and started moving the degh with sarabloh spatula.

We came in to the divaan hall. Daas couldn't lift his head for the remainder of the kirtan and stayed in ardaas while sitting in the divaan hall. At the time of samapti after the Hukamnama when the singhs started distrubuting the degh, daas's naam khanda went faster with benti to guru sahib. A singh came to daas and made me saavdhan and asked me to take gaffa. When daas recieved the degh, daas couldnot believe seeing the degh. it was as perfect as it could be and tasted divine. Only thing daas could do afterwards was Sukar.

Such is the power of ardaas.
