This story is an adaption from Bhai Sahib's account of how he fixed a naked saadhu in Siri Amritsar Sahib. This Saakhi was published in an older print of Gurmat Gauravta but for some reason, this Saakhi has been taken out of the new prints of this book. Perhaps, it has been taken out because of its explicit content but whatever the reason, it was not correct to do so. This Saakhi shows that Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee did not hesitate to use Danda (stick) to fix Pakhandi Sants.

Under-age persons are advised against reading this Saakhi.

Once Bhai Sahib and about 4 more Singhs went to get darshan of Siri Harmandir Sahib – Siri Amritsar Sahib. After doing darshan ishnaan of Darbar Sahib, Singhs went to Company Baagh (a very good park built by Raja Ranjit Singh). Singhs and Bhai Sahib always used to carry weapons like Kirpan, Safajung, Gandaasa or just a bamboo stick if nothing else.

As the Singhs were resting under a big tree there, they heard the sound of a bull crying out. Everyone, including the Singhs started looking at the direction the bull sound was coming from. Soon they saw a very strong and tall young man, totally naked, walking towards them making sound like a bull cry and also making foot gestures like a bull. He looked carelessly at the Singhs and soon settled under a tree not too far from the Singhs.

This Saan (bull) was known to have lot of spiritual powers and many people used to come to him for worldly boons. He had a lot of following in that area. He used to go to any shop and pick anything he liked and never cared to pay any money. The shop owners and merchants were scared of him out of fear of getting cursed by him and thereby did not stop him when he picked up thing or two from their shops. He rarely used to talk and used to make bull cry kind of sound as he came, to let others know that he was there.

As this naked saadhu was seated under that tree, a couple came looking for this saadhu. They both had great shardha (faith) in this saadhu. They came and prostrated before the naked saadhu. They got up and started begging the saadhu to eat something. Soon they started talking about the purpose of their visit.

They were close enough for the Singhs to see and hear their conversation. The Singhs including Bhai Sahib started listening to what the couple had to say to the naked saadhu. The couple as expected started pleading for a child. The couple was quite young but were apparently childless after marriage. They wanted a child and someone had told them that this saadh could grant them a child.

The naked saadhu acted oblivious of the young lady at his disposal. He was not showing any interest in her but she was begging and cajoling him for a son. After hearing for a short while, he ordered the lady to meet him alone at night time at such and such place and that he would grant her what she was looking for. When the saadhu noticed some hesitation on the part of the lady, he addressed her saying that he had no urge for Kaam. Saying this he took hold of her hand and placed it on his private part to prove that he had no urge for Kaam.

All this was happening right in front of this husband. Bhai Sahib has written in his book that it was now too much for them to tolerate any more. First this saadh had asked the young lady to see him at night alone and now, right in front of everyone he had taken her hand and placed it on his private parts. The saadhu wanted to prove that he had no urge for Kaam but the Singhs by now had had it enough. Bhai Sahib has written that the naked saadhu had eaten some medicine to stop any movement in his private parts when she touched it, thereby impressing the couple and proving that he had no urge for Kaam and that he was an accomplished Sant.

Bhai Sahib along with other Singhs got up and walked towards the couple. Without saying a word Bhai Sahib started beating up the saadhu mercilessly, with his bamboo stick and safajung. Singhs also beat up the husband for being such a loser. At first the Naked Saadhu tried to scare away the Singhs by making bull sounds. The couple too tried to stop Bhai Sahib from beating him up saying that this saadhu was an accomplished Sant and if he cursed them, they would be finished.

Bhai Sahib got more Bir Rass when he heard about the curse and his spiritual powers. What could this Saadhu’s spiritual powers do in front of Khalsa of Guru Sahib? Bhai Sahib stopped beating him and challenged him to show his spiritual and magical powers. The naked saadhu tried some but nothing would work in front of the Singhs. Bhai Sahib started beating him again. Now the Singhs too joined Bhai Sahib and they beat up this saadhu very badly for a long time.

At first the saadhu was showing anger and tried to curse the Singhs but after getting beaten up by the Singhs, he came to his senses and now started pleading. The couple too got beaten up and ran away leaving the saadhu alone. The whole city gathered to witness the sodhaayee (beating) of the naked sant. In the end, the saadhu pleaded and promised that he would leave the nagri (city) of Siri Guru Ramdaas jee forever and never come back. He also promised to stop his Pakhandi activities.

Singhs let him go after he promised never to come back to Siri Amritsar Sahib and after he promised to stop taking advantage of people. He was never seen in Siri Amritsar Sahib again.

Such was Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee – A Sant and a Sipaahi. And so stupid are people who go after such fake sants such as the naked sant.
