A Poem about Bhai Sahib jee

Below is a poem dedicated to my favourite Gurmukh Pyare - Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee.

Once upon a time, there lived Guru ke Pyaray.
The True Lord’s Naam, he chanted all-day.

Akhand Kirtan was his food and Naam was his life.
He killed his pride and ego, using the Satnaam knife.

He wrote many books, that awakened many souls.
Many souls got free, Maya lost its controls.

His teachings were based on Guru’s Baani alone.
Without Naam he said, you will always bemoan.

On the way to Dharam Rai, there are deadly valleys.
There is no friend, help or light in those bad alleys.

Naam alone will help, no doubt about this fact.
Other than Naam he said, there is no better tact.

He was born in 1800s, to a family that was royal.
He gave up Maya and became Guru jee's loyal.

He was only 27, when he had God’s vision.
To live without the Lord, now there was no reason.

He worked with the Gadaris, to free the motherland.
He was to go to prison, God had it so planned.

Guru Sahib wanted to set a great Sikhi example.
Bhai Sahib endured atrocities to show a Sikhi Sample.

He endured injustices for more than sixteen years.
He never compromised and won the Rehit frontier.

Many got influenced by his pious living style.
They all stopped sinning and gave up all guile.

Sweet Paath of Baani turned the jail into heaven.
The badness of prisoners was crushed and trodden.

Bhagat Singh met Bhai Sahib at the prison.
He believed not in God by the way of reason.

He trimmed his hair and wanted to be famous.
Bhai Sahib said such ideal of life is graceless.

Bhai Sahib explained him the eternity of soul.
How the soul is one but the bodies change role.

Some past good Karma of Bhagat Singh sprouted.
He became a believer rejecting all he had doubted.

In the jail Bhai Sahib earned Laaha that was enormous.
While he came out of jail, he had become very famous.

For the next thirty years, he did Parchaar very massive.
He did Kirtan that was Godly, wrote books very effective.

I am indebted to Bhai Sahib, for connecting me to Guru.
His books helped me to leave bad habits I used to do.

There is a prior connection with this Gurmukh.
Tapobani wants Darshan of his sweet Mukh.

Bhul Chuk dee Maafi jee.

Daas,
Kulbir Singh
